Friendly owners welcomed me to stay in their home; lovely central location on the High Street - with parking!; fascinating, higgledy-piggledy late 1600s cottage. A real find.

Reception staff when we checked in was rude and we was told there was no space in the harbour on the 6th floor restaurant by the reception staff for my partner’s birthday so I went on the website and had to request a table and they had loads of space, then when we went for dinner and it was horrendous service we only managed to get one drink with our meal the music was so loud we could hear each other and was like a night club not a restaurant venue, the waiter took orders from other customers that where there after us it genuinely got the money ruined our stay

It is a charming area with lots of interesting places to visit to suit varied tastes. The village had shops which sold locally grown produce and seemed environmentally aware also had a friendly atmosphere. Beulieu is very near Exbury Gardens which are fantastic generally but particularly for the Azaleas and Rhododendrons in April and May.

It was actually East Boldre we stayed but it was really in Beaulieu. It is well placed to reach anywhere. Many places of interest on the doorstep. We went 20th June and there were loads of foals and young donkeys who were so cute. I love the fact that animals have the right of way - and humans have to wait for them to move. We visited Brockenhurst, Lyndhurst, Ringwood, Beaulieu car museum and Bucklers Hard and they were all worth a visit. Many picturesque villages in the New Forest.

The approach to Beaulieu through the New Forest is magical in its own right. The Village is quintessentially British and very charming. One could spend hours meandering along the streets windowshopping. For lovers of old cars you will be in seventh heaven.

The food was excellent but not a great deal of choice, if you want a room over looking the river you need to be very adept as its difficult to climb the stairs, these rooms don't have showers only baths that take for ever to fill. We was fortunate that the hotel didn't seem to be full, if it was I think you would wait for ever to be served in the restaurants and bars.

Go with an open mind and you won't be disappointed.
Go with an open mind and you won't be disappointed. Hotel reception set in part of the old buildings, as was the bar area. Previous (to my knowledge) the display of historic scenes had been moved and are now mainly within the Museum just up the hill. Tea rooms up the hill further were well stocked, clean and airy.
A beautifully appointed little cottage - perfect for a couple. Very pleasant and kind hosts. Great location, just over the road from a large and interesting lake with plenty of wildlife. Just a few minutes from Beaulieu, Bucklers Hard, Exbury Gardens and Brockenhurst. Very comfortable and has a lovely attached conservatory which is a sun trap. Hosts had supplied milk, eggs and bread, as well as tea and coffee. Good little farm shop only a few hundred yards away with butcher and all other vital supplies. Secure location with gated access.
Loved the history as well as the location of this
hotel. So many lovely touches from the
bathrobes & slippers, cotton wool balls & buds in
bathroom to the fruit & water given for our return
journey. The staff were polite & charming
with nothing too much trouble. Our bed
was extremely comfortable and the option of hot
complimentary drinks brought to our room in the
morning most thoughtful and welcome.
Breakfast was delicious and the hotel garden
a delight. Not something I could afford regularly
but a real treat.
The location was stunning. the hotel was just amazing and felt like we had gone back in time with all the history that surrounds it. our bedroom was clean and cozy and just beautiful. The staff were all helpful and friendly. we ate dinner in the evening at the river view restaurant, the food was amazing as was breakfast, we took the boat trip and took a walk along the river, can’t believe we had never heard of this place. was the most perfect stay.
The location is so peaceful and the restaurant for dinner and breakfast was lovely. Although I wasn't a fan of the room, the bed was large and the bathroom had a bath. The location is by far the best thing about this hotel, with the walk to Beaulieu and river cruises right outside, and the garden terrace for sunny days.
Beaulieu is a very picturesque and busy little village well located for visiting the New Forest.
The hotel was wonderful as were the staff. We stayed in the Walnut Suite which was very comfortable for our 6 night stay. Breakfast was excellent, if a little pricey. We enjoyed the Terrace restaurant too.
The cottage was in a lovely location for the New Forest and Beaulieu, which is why we were there. It had all the facilities one would want and the owner was a lovely lady who couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful. I would highly recommend this property for anyone visiting this area.
This is not a hotel for elderly or disabled. Too many steps. Not good for scooter, stones. Breakfast excellent but dinner not so good . Selection for dinner strange and it took a long time to come. No roll given. Expensive.
Boat on river good. Lounge comfy
Well equipped. Private space in garden. Half bottle of Prosecco much appreciated. Comfortable bed. Good shower. Friendly host. Great location for Beaulieu Motor Museum which was the reason for the stay. Loved the very friendly chickens.
Quiet, peaceful location. Clean, well equipped, main room, good shower room, plenty of hot water, huge TV, comfortable bed, Phoenix the horse!
Good location with easy access to Beaulieu, Lymington, the coast and forest.
The location couldn't have been better and having ponies and donkeys just below the bedroom window was great. The hotel was very comfortable and staff couldn't be more helpful
The location is stunning and the hotel is a very interesting, quirky old building with a lot of history and character. The bed was very comfortable and we slept really well.
