Lovely quiet, rural location in an old house. The room was very pleasant with a view of the garden.
The grounds are a haven for nature with rabbits, wild plants and many bird species including a pair of barn owls.
There's a lovely fruit and vegetable patch too, as well as several chickens who are quite happy to come and have a chat and may lay a nice egg for your breakfast.
The hosts Sara and Kevin are fabulous and made us feel very welcome.
All in all, an excellent stay and would definitely recommend.

Everything was amazing about this trip! My partner and I stayed for 2 nights and couldn’t complain about anything. The bed was super comfy, great facilities and the hot tub was beautiful! Even the little milk and the welcome biscuits was such a cute touch. The owners were super lovely too and very helpful :)

A busy town and lots of traffic.
A busy town and lots of traffic. Worth exploring, but I didn't have the time, other than looking at the old jail. Good mid-way stopping point if travelling further into Cornwall.
The hotel served a very good breakfast and the evening meal was well prepared: the lamb that I had was beautifully cooked. The options for puddings were mainly cake-based and personally, I found my meringue option a tad sweet (as one might expect) with no pouring cream to calm it down!

Was visiting a sick relative in the hospital & hotel very convenient for that. Have always been in transit elsewhere so didn't know the town well. So attractive and clean. Very friendly people who readily helped direct or help in other ways. I have relatives who came from Probus and Devonshire so visited both counties from 1946 onwards and think changes by and large sensitive and well carried out. The beauty of the county and rural nature has been largely preserved and if controlled population increase measures are sympathetically controlled, the character of the county ought to be preserved along with its beauty.

A great experience, the renovation work is amazing throughout the hotel! We only stayed there for 1 night but we would have liked to have spend more time.
Comfortable beds, and a great spacious bathroom.
Great breakfast options.
Would be great to have gluten free options in the room service menu.
By far the best 3 star hotel I’ve stayed in. I was working in Cornwall so I chose something different from the usual premier inn. Lovely staff and a smashing restaurant with beautiful views over the golf course. Very quiet, so refreshing not to have to listen to hotels doors banging all night . And next time we stay my nephew owes one of the ladies a lighter as we borrowed theirs and he forgot to return it. Also a big thanks to the staff who made us sausage sandwiches to take away with us as we had to leave before breakfast started.
Property was very modern and clean. Good range of items at breakfast. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Located near Bodmin just off the A30 dual carriageway gives access to both north and south cornwall coastlines and plenty of places to visit in between. As the hotel is situated alongside a motorway services there is plenty of parking and banks of chargers for drivers with EVs. The motorway services next door offer a costa, McDonalds, Taco Bell, Subway and a co op. And of course a 24 hour filling station.
The hotel was so clean and the staff were so friendly and welcoming.
We visited in March and our room was always warm and cosy, massive rooms with comfy beds and clean soft linen.
Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice and cooked to perfection. High quality produce.
It was only a 10 minute drive from Bodmin town centre so it was really easy to find.
Quiet and peaceful location.
The property was spotlessly clean, the room was comfortable and had all of the facilities that you would expect of any guest accommodation. It is centrally located in a peaceful development, for access to all of Cornwall’s offerings. Also a short walk, around 20 minutes to Bodmin town centre where you will find plenty of pubs and restaurants. All in all, a great place to stay.
Absolutely stunning hotel full of history. We were able to take our dog with us, dog friendly is an understatement! Staff were amazingly friendly and helpful and couldn’t do enough to help you. Especially there was a lady who I think was the manger who was just incredible. We can’t wait to go back, worth every penny!
It was perfect! the cottage is lovingly done up to the last detail it certainly looks to be a labor of love! everything from the fully equipped kitchen, lounge, dining room, bedrooms the books, radios, movies in DVD, smart Tv, artwork everything you would need to settle down relax and explore lovely Cornwall!
Steeped in history, excellent renovation of this old prison. Very modern yet authentic, encapsulating the dark history along with a luxurious hotel. The food was excellent. Our room was spacious (3 cells) very clean. The jail museum guided tour a must, Carl was a fantastic and knowledgeable tour guide!
The piece and quiet of this cottages location and the thoughtfulness of the host such as the welcome drinks and even treats for our dog that was a nice touch. very clean and tidy cottage ideal for exploring Cornwall and right in centre of bodmin Moor we would definitely stay again when next in Cornwall
This is a ground floor en suite room with its own entrance. There has clearly been an effort to fit the room out to be comfortable. It was clean and there were some thoughtful touches, like chocolates and local information. It is close to Bodmin town centre.
Excellent location near Bodmin, lovely well cared for log cabin with all the things needed for a great stay. Perfect, highly recommended. We visited the nearby Steam railway at Bodmin, the Eden Project and historic Charlestown harbour.
The catering both at breakfast and in the evening is excellent as is the service. Accommodation is compact but we'll designed, modern and very clean. The village is lovely and we'll located for touring the area.
Excellent location both within Bodmin town & for day trips across the region.
Lovely quaint cottage, nicely renovated. Nice garden,
good range of kitchen equipment supplied.
very pleasant host.
We had to book a one night stay because of the winds we had to leave our tent.
Everyone who worked at the hotel was wonderful.
The hotel was spotlessly clean and we had a lovely restful stay.
The hotel was ideally situated in the heart of Bodmin. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. The rooms were clean and the full English breakfast were excellent.
