we were disappointed and probably won't go again. We had been many times before years ago and it was much better then. It was very expensive for what it was. The breakfast was ordinary for a fancy hhotel. Dinner was good

Spoilt with the number and quality of exceptional Hunter Valley wineries.
Wines were brilliant. Cellar doors very knowledgeable and willing to share their wine knowledge as needed.
The compact nature of the Valley means travel is easy and without hassles.
Restaurants and concert venues are 1st class.
Being so close to Sydney... it's a must to visit and enjoy the world class wines!

Beautiful area with gorgeous scenery and incredibly welcoming people at every place we went. So many little wineries to visit, chocolate and cheese. A great place to relax and wind down.
We weren’t that overwhelmed by the brunches we had at Liesure Inn and Eden at the Garden Centre, but the surroundings and lovely people helped overcome that. I think some places rely on the tourist one time visit rather than getting everything right.

It turned out to be an AirBNB. Promised breakfast and had to cook myself. Not a good choice. Told by owner I could go out somewhere else to have breakfast!!!! Why when I have paid for it?
Shower over spa tub in bathroom so not easy getting in and out. Tear in one of pillow slips. Furniture not very nice.

It's great for couples, not alot to do for children but we found a few options. Perfect for a weekend getaway and of course a wedding which is why we were there. Super impressed with Brokenwood and the changes they have made.

Pokolbin has quite a few things to do and a number of accommodation options at your disposal. It's just a matter of how much you can afford to spend and how much time you have to see everything. We drove around as this was easiest for a family, although you had the expensive horse and carriage or cheap electric bike hire as other options. The wineries are always a winner, but the Chocolate & Fudge Factory and Cheese Factory are good to visit as well. Take a look at Pepper Tree Vineyard. They offer free use of their gardens/vines for a picnic opportunity, but you do need to book this.

Hunter Valley Gardens was the best.
Hunter Valley Gardens was the best. Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort was horrific. Only those visitors who booked with Oaks could use facilities others could not even though we paid the same amount. We were deprived of the use of major facilities at the resort as we booked through booking .com. It was a humiliating experience, awful for my daughter. Heartbreaking. The woman at Oaks reception was vile when explaining the disaster to me.
* Beautiful Hotel -very impressive good sized rooms
Fantastic Breakfast included
* Family Friendly - after breakfast kids can get a bucket & head to sheds at bottom of property & feel the local pigs!
* Also kids patting zoo setup free was fantastic-real value add to the stay
* Great bar, pizza ovens, steak, outdoor games options
* Nice views & aspects
* Free parking
* 10mins drive from Hunter Valley Gardens, which was purpose of our vacay (Snow festival)
We found a couple of excellent breakfast locations but had to search, we may have missed that info in the room though! Any information for eateries and transport in the area would be fantastic.
I also loved that there were makeup wipes and separate face towels, that was a nice touch. The mini-bar was also very well priced!
We had a very late check in and very early checkout, the hotel was very responsive and helpful in facilitating this.
A great villa with a peaceful and private setting. Felt very homely and was exceptionally clean. Great kitchen facilities, spacious lounge and balcony and very comfortable beds. The resort itself is 5 star and would recommend it over other golf resorts I have stayed at in the Hunter. Great wineries close by, next door to Brokenwood which is a beautiful spot for lunch and a tasting.
Claudia at Reception was fantastic - a very helpful and pleasant young lady (Set the tone for the whole venue. Perfectly located and close to so many of the things to do in Pokolbin. The room was excellent and spotlessly clean. The food at the Bistro was good quality and the drinks were surprisingly a very good price considering the quality of the wines available.
2 nights stay in this really EXCELLENT accommodation.
Pros : Location ideal. Reception charming and efficient. Room superb, spacious, very well equipped. Comfort 5 stars. Local amenities convenient and high quality. This is a perfect venue for a visit to The Hunter Valley and very reasonably priced. Most highly recommended
The warm welcome from the staff from reception to the cafe. It was family first time in hunter valley and the H hotel was the perfect stay for us. Especially when you need a place to stay after an eventful day and night taking kids to the hunter valley gardens Christmas lights. The kids enjoyed their time.
Reasonable sized room with a king and a single bed. Excellent restaurant with large outdoor eating area. Very close to Hunter Valley Gardens. View of the vineyard right out the back and our little granddaughter enjoyed seeing the kangaroos in the morning.
This was our second stay and for sure we’ll return soon. it’s very well located (close to several wineries, Hunter Valley Gardens, restaurants etc), has everything you need for a short stay, clean, beautiful views and very responsive and lovely staff.
This is a great unit, the location is beautiful with amazing views off the back deck. The unit has everything you need and the hosts provided detailed information for us to make check in a breeze. it’s central to everything in the hunter valley.
Location was very central to all Pokolbin and Hunter Valley has to offer so that is super.
The rooms were simple but beautifully designed and decorated, and beds very comfortable - really nice.
And the garden absolutely stunning.
The location was excellent and very central to so many Pokolbin wineries. The staff were lovely and very communicative, and the bed was very comfortable. We will definitely stay here on our next trip to the Hunter Valley.
The room was so spacious and comfortable. Loved that the hotel is located in a calm and serene estate, with Kangaroos roaming around. We had a very relaxing stay. The Buffet Breakfast was also really nice.
Great self contained little units with lovely views. The bathroom was amazing (double rain shower head, good pressure and hot water). Breakfast provisions were also very generous. Loved our stay.
Breakfast was excellent but staff were a highlight. Beautiful outlook and loved the geese!
Great central Hunter Valley location. Enjoyed the open fire in the guest lounge.
