Sepilok Forest Edge Resort is a nature retreat in Sandakan, a 15-minute walk from the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. Providing rooms in a natural environment, it has a plunge pool and free Wi-Fi in restaurant area.

We were quite skeptical when booking this hotel due to other reviews but man, we’re glad we did. From the beginning, the reception staff was so warm and kind. When checking in they showed us that there is a bat residing at our cottage and kindly asked us not to bother it which was great as in the middle of the jungle you are the guest. Then we headed to the restaurant where you are asked to leave your shoes outside which is giving the area a cozy and familiar vibe. Once in the restaurant, you are on a wooden deck surrounded by jungle, trees with birds & squirrels, frangipani trees and a scenic view and an even better feeling to be in such an amazing place. The food was the best I had in 2 weeks - a base of asian with touches of european, just perfect. The room was what I feared most as accomodations in the jungle is usually filled with bugs. But we had absolutely no problem - maybe a few ants in the bath but that’s it. We had mosquito spray in the room - sprayed the room before dinner just as a prevention and it was perfect. Bedsheets, bathroom, all clean. And the view from the balcony - priceless. Our cottage was not the newest but they are actively working on the construction so the place is just going to get better and better. Also, 800 m from the urangutan and sun bears centers - a lovely 10 minutes walk. We highly reccommend.

The room was nice and clean, it had a cattle and tea/coffee. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The food is okay and the jungle fern on the menu is great! The pool seemed clear.

Situated amidst abundant greenery, Sepilok Nature Lodge - Formerly known as Sepilok Nature Resort is a haven for nature lovers. It has a restaurant, and offers complimentary WiFi access in its public areas.

Fantastic resort, great location, excellent design, spacious rooms, helpful, polite and smiling staff, very good food. We much appreciated the setting in nature, being close to the rainforest. We were so lucky - after breakfast a mother orangutan with its baby sitting on a tree just beside the outside restaurant.....

The resort was in an excellent location, five minutes walk to the orangutan centre and 20 minutes walk to the rainforest discovery centre. The actual resort was in an amazing setting in the rainforest, with walkways and small lakes. The pool area was lovely, very peaceful. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The food was good. It was excellent value for money, and included a buffet style breakfast. We stayed in the basic room, which was fine for three nights.

Resort location is quite good and the grounds are beautiful. Staff were overall very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is comfortable and the food is pretty good. It would be a lovely place to stay if you are a couple or a family but wouldn't recommend to solo travellers.

Best place I have ever stayed. This was the most amazing experience. The rooms had a balcony and you could see the whole jungle, watch the animals and the sounds were beautiful. It was like a luxury jungle experience. The common area was also lovely! Met lots of other travellers and the food was exceptional. The staff were also so friendly! The shuttle is great, goes to sepilok and picks you up. This was by far better than any of the other resorts by the centres. I will deffo go back.
